Claymation scene of a youthful, vibrant Indian woman in her 50s standing thoughtfully at the intersection between desks in a large open-plan office. She surveys her colleagues with a contemplative expression. Floor-to-ceiling windows behind her reveal a city skyline, lit by warm afternoon light coming from the left. Colleagues work at their computers throughout the spacious high-rise office.

Redefining Value for Shapeshifters

Equip self to own, shape and exchange value on your own terms

This interactive workshop series is designed for shapeshifters who know their work can’t be reduced to a job title or an hourly rate. Rather their work is about contribution, creation and exchange of value. So it is important that they become fluent in value literacy to under-pin value-based activity for themselves, and the work they do serving others.

Across three online sessions, you’ll learn how to define your unique contributions (ska value proposition), expand what you can claim and create, and bring it all together with a practical tool the Workscape Value Exchange Ledger™.

Who it's for

This program is ideal for individuals who identify as a shapeshifter. This is someone who moves between roles, projects and identities. Learn more about the concept of shapeshifter (and even take a self-assessment!)

What it covers

The focus of this program is the Workscape (Employee-like) context.

Session 1: My Value to Others as a Shapeshifter
Define your shapeshifting value proposition by aligning what you can contribute, with what others care about.

Session 2: Value Beyond the Paycheck for Me
Expand your perspective to what you can claim and create as value for yourself. Learn how to design chains of value that serve both immediate needs and long-term aspirations.

Session 3: Make my Value Exchange Visible and Actionable
Bring it all together by composing your Workscape Value Exchange Ledger™ — a potent shapeshifter’s tool for mapping, negotiating, and sustaining value across roles.

A claymation-style woman with short grey hair and large grey headphones sits at a desk, facing a computer monitor. On the screen, six diverse claymation faces appear in a Zoom-like grid, each in different coloured backgrounds. The woman’s hand rests on a mouse beside a white clay keyboard. Stacks of blue clay cards and a few white cards sit on the desk.

What others say

“As a ‘shapeshifter’ — someone whose work often falls between the rules and roles — the challenge is making the invisible visible. The value(x) approach, specifically the Value Exchange Ledger, provides the language to do exactly that.

The process lifts your value literacy, giving you a pragmatic way to ground what you do and what you need in any given moment. It isn’t a static exercise; it offers the flexibility to adapt your value elements as the context changes. This clarity is foundational. It allows you to anchor in your own agency — a shift that only you can give yourself — which fundamentally changes the power dynamic of your professional relationships.

Whether you are talking to the person signing your paycheck or collaborating with a colleague, having this level of ownership over your value exchange makes every conversation more grounded and effective.”

Workshop Facilitator: Helen Palmer

As well as being the creator of the value(x)™ methods and products, Helen is a shapeshifter who helps individuals and organisations unlock the unexamined value in their activities. With an eye for nuance and a Swiss Army knife of tools, she transforms abstract concepts into practical insights. (She is also part of the founding team of Shapeshifters Group Inc.)

Helen creates learning spaces that energise and empower, enabling self-determined individuals to articulate, negotiate, and manage what they give and get at work. Her sessions blend curiosity, clarity, and kindness — raising the bar for what meaningful professional development and ‘career’ management looks like.
