Origins of value(x)™ hub

Creating a home for people who want to make value visible

About the value(x)™ approach

A way to think, talk, and work with value

value(x)™ is both a brand and a body of practice. It brings together tools, insights, frameworks, and methods that explore how value can be experienced in work, business, and life.

It gives shape and language to something often felt but rarely examined.

Why it exists

Because value is everywhere, but not always clear

The word value appears in business plans, personal goals, and change strategies — yet people often mean very different things by it.
value(x)™ brings curiosity and clarity to that word. It helps distinguish between value (worth or usefulness) and values (beliefs or principles) so that purpose and results can both be discussed clearly.

It exists to make value visible, discussable, and actionable.

Context lenses

About the name

Why it’s written as value(x)

Borrowed from predicate logic, value(x) means “value applied to something specific.”

It reflects a key idea: value isn’t fixed or universal. What’s valuable depends on context, intention, and perspective.

The logo/brand name captures this — practical, precise, and curious — a logic for identifying what matters, when it matters, and why.

Where it began

Created from curiosity, not a business plan

2018 …
The first printed value element cards appeared … three decks for different kinds of value conversations however, living under two seperate brands.

  • Employee (now Workscape): Self unLimited
  • Business : Quello
  • Customer (now Marketplace): Quello

… 2026
The cards decks and methods get the new single branding: value(x)™. They come together to live under the one roof giving all the decks and supporting knowledge a single coherent home.

This also enables meaningful intersections of all three perspectives.

Who is behind it

Created by Helen Palmer

Helen is known for making complex ideas make sense — and making sense interesting.

Her work spans organisational change, knowledge management, and learning design.

She created the value elements card decks, the VALUE framework, and many of the methods that bring them to life.

The value(x)™ hub is her way of sharing those ideas in one place where thoughtfulness and play can coexist.

What the hub is for

Less like a library, more like a workbench.

The hub is a space to explore, experiment, and learn.

Here you’ll find tools, reference material, and insights that make value tangible — without jargon or fuss.
